The Dent Schoolhouse is known as one of the tightest themed haunted attractions in the United States. Located in Cincinnati, OH the attraction actually takes place in an old school that opened up in 1894. As the story goes, the schoolhouse was shutdown in the 1950s due to a murderous Janitor. The building is said to still be haunted by both the Janitor and his victims.
Every year, guests come from all over to experience the living, breathing horror movie experience that is a trip through the Dent Schoolhouse. From start to finish, you are walking through the school as if it had shut down in the 1950s. Ghostly children roam the halls as a fearsome faculty maintain order in their old grimy classrooms. The basement tells the tale of just how evil the Janitor of that school really was.
In 2021, hauntseekers were treated with a new Fall Fest themed queue waiting area. Old booths like a pumpkin toss, kissing booth, and face painting line the walkways as guests wait to enter the school. Let’s not forget the wall of over 220 + carved jack o’ lanterns that line the wall of the school… this is a must photo op! But 2022 has been the largest build and project for the attraction. A NEW experience is brewing behind the schoolhouse that will enhance the scare and fun. Photo ops, large gift shop, games and more await this top-secret project. The good news… it is included with every ticket!
Also, the schoolhouse is launching the 10 Ghosts of Dent stories. A short video series will follow a grandfather telling a group of kids some of the ghost stories that have come out of the schoolhouse. Each story will feature a different ghost of the school. Videos will start to drop mid to late August on both dentschoolhouse.com and their social media accounts.
The Dent Schoolhouse opens September 16th this year and runs through October 31st. Lights Out, a dark event, will run November 4th and 5th, while A Christmas Nightmare, a haunted Christmas event, will run December 9th and 10th. Grab your tickets and more at www.dentschoolhouse.com
