A fall and Halloween tradition for Metro Detroiters, Erebus Haunted Attraction is bringing the heat early on this season! “We love our city, we love our patrons, and now it’s time to invite them all in!”, says co-owner Jim Terebus. Erebus plans to open its doors a month early, on August 12th, for the all new Making of the Monster – A Walk-Through Documentary. With over 40 flat screen tv’s mounted throughout the 1/2 mile winding path of darkness, comes an exciting and informative tour, sharing with you the history of the Terebus family and how the monster known as Erebus came to be. From their origins, to industries most innovative ideas, come and learn how and why they built it! This tour will consist of zero actors, in matinee fashion, with theatrical lighting and sound, giving everyone a chance to see behind the curtain and into the minds of the Terebus brothers terrifying nightmares. This tour will run every Saturday and Sunday, starting August 12th and 13th in the afternoons, prior to the actual haunted attraction, and continue through the Halloween season with the last tour running on Nov. 4th.
Erebus, the burning red beast, will officially open its doors on September 15th for those who are ready for an unforgettable evening of screams and laughter! With a new Costume Director and Scare Director, this season is sure to give you the most detailed look into the eyes of fear, ever! Every costume is being handmade and custom tailored to the actor working that specific display. Fitting the part only goes halfway, then the new Director steps in and shows them exactly how to bring you to your knees! This season will be one for the books!
Additions throughout the attraction are giving Erebus a completely new level of frightful fun!
The infamous clown time-zone (Erebus is a time machine which has differently themed sections broken down by time portals), has been completely changed and updated for all those that share in the love/hate relationship for the red-nosed jokers! Fall into the pits of the headmasters lair, where you can’t possibly dodge everything they throw at you! Hope you bring your stronger friends because these clowns will test your strength! With the pandemic now under control, Erebus is proud to bring back one of their many groundbreaking displays, “Buried Alive” where they lock you in a room, fill it up over 6ft deep and laugh as they wonder how long you can hold your breath! And everyone’s favorite, the “Swamp” has drifted further downriver to places no haunt has ever dreamed. Come see what’s been lurking in the backwoods just waiting for a chance to taste your fear!
And after you’ve completely lost your voice, you definitely can’t miss the state of the art Erebus Escape Rooms, located just blocks north of the haunted attraction in Downtown Pontiac. The level of detail put into these themes and sets will leave you wondering whether you are still in Metro Detroit at all! Choose whether you have the wits to think like a convict and escape death row in “Lockdown”, the smarts and investigative skills to track and hunt a killer in “Body of Evidence”, or the adventurous tomb raider seeking the world’s treasure in “Eye of Horus”. Each of these games promises that you will be back for more! And for those just starting, their family friendly zone hosts two escape rooms, “Dragon’s Curse” and “Once Upon A Time”, that are perfect for families or beginners!
