Odynophobia is the abnormal fear of pain. Granted, most of us are afraid of pain in some capacity, but for those suffering from Odynophobia it can be so terrifying as to make everyday life nearly unbearable. Imagine how debilitating an evening spent at The Haunted Hotel would be for one so terrorized by the threat of pain, as unspeakable threats lurk around every corner…
A multi-threat to the phobia inflicted, The Haunted Hotel sends visitors to the deepest, darkest recesses of the basement level, where unseen evil awaits. An unnatural fear of basements can be brought about by any number of related phobias:
Bathmophobia, the fear of stairs.
Centophobia, the fear of empty rooms.
Clithrophobia, the fear of being locked in an enclosed place.
Herpetophobia, the fear of creepy crawly things.
Lygophobia, the fear of being in a dark or gloomy place.
Sciophobiaa, the fear of shadows.
Stenophobia, the fear of being in a thin or narrow place.
Yeah. The Haunted Hotel has a little bit of phobia for everyone. You may need extensive therapy after you crawl your way out from the bowels of this particular haunt.
The Haunted Hotel is San Diego’s premier haunted attraction. Located downtown in the Gaslamp District, it is the longest running haunted house in San Diego. It was named by Haunt World Magazine as one of the top 13 haunted houses in America and has been featured in “America Haunts IV” on The Travel Channel in 2009. The horror filled nights run through Halloween.
The Haunted Hotel will be open this July during Comic-Con International, to dish out a painfully delicious serving of pre-Halloween thrills, chills, scares and terror. Come out on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23, from 7PM to 11PM, to start your haunt season early.
