Spooky WoodsTony Wohlgemuth – owner of Kersey Valley Spooky Woods.  Tony established the Kersey Valley Spooky Woods in 1985.

It all began in May just past midnight in 1985.  During a boy’s night campout in a barn a rod iron chandelier fell and stopped right above our faces.  The power was coming from the scary abandoned farm house that was built in 1927.  Apparently, the drop cord used for power had come unplugged and was caught by the window seal.

Once we restored the power a dare was proposed by one of the boys to ascend the stairs to the second story and see what was up there.  As the bravest one of us took the dare and made his way up the stairs. Once he reached the upper floor, he let out a scream as he stirred up a family of bats and one latched onto his back.

We always said that old farm house was haunted and after this occurrence the decision was made to create a haunted house attraction.

That following October we opened up a 5-room haunted attraction inside the farm house with 10 of our friends.  Since that humble beginning almost 40 years ago Kersey Valley Spookywoods has opened every year since.  Kersey Valley employs over 350 people and takes up almost the entire 100-acre farm with year-round attractions that all started by a dare of teenagers scared of bats.

The latest attraction is the Kersey Valley Paranormal Investigations that is based in the farm house that started it all.  Visit https://kerseyvalley.com  to learn more about all we do here on the farm.
